The Longest Line: World Record Attempt

Here at Green RV there are three things that we live for: community, adventure and exploration and caravans (We’re sure that last one won’t shock anyone!)

We love to get out on the open road in luxury and style and see everything that Australia has to offer with our loved ones – and making new friends along the way! So we’re over the moon to be partnering with Australia’s Motorhome Lions Club (AMLC) and The Longest Line event.

The Longest Line event, hosted by AMLC, in partnership with the Barcaldine Regional Council, to attempt to break 2 world records! The largest parade of camping vehicles AND The longest connected image made of LED rope lights. And we’re proud to be major sponsors!

Green RV: Proud Sponsors

Green RV director, Carl Green, has known Joan, Clive and other AMLC founders for over 40 years and are old family friends. All sharing an interest in adventure via RV – that lifelong friendship has been easy to maintain.

That’s why we were ecstatic when founder Len Waddington, and now chairman of the AMLC reached out to us to be a Major Sponsor of The Longest Line event. We’re so proud to be working with the team to bring this event to life, smash some records, show the rest of the world what Australia’s RV’ers are made of – and have a tonne of fun doing it!

All The Event Details

The Longest Line is a five-day event running from 23 May – 27 May at Barcaldine, QLD that will attempt to break a whopping 2 world records!

The Largest Parade of Camping Vehicles

The current world record for the largest parade of camping vehicles was set in Canelli, Italy with 672 camping vehicles in 2003.

The goal is to smash this record with at least 1,000 RVs! A record that’s guaranteed to keep us in the record books for years to come and show the rest of the world what Australia’s got.

To be a part of this event, as per the Guinness World Records guidelines, the following vehicle types are welcome to participate:

  • Motorhomes
  • Caravans
  • Campervans
  • Fifth Wheelers

And all vehicles must be moving along the road when the count takes place.

This record attempt will take place Sunday morning, 26 May 2019. The Guinness World Record official rules will be applied by a team of marshals, who will conduct the count and measurements required to establish both records.

The Longest Connected Image Made of LED Rope Lights

The current record for this sits at only 665 metres – which we know can be easily broken with our campervans already lined up and ready to go for the largest parade of camping vehicles!

The longest connected image made of LED rope lights will take place in the afternoon of 25 May 2019 along Aramac-Barcaldine Road. The attempt will be measured that evening in accordance with the Guinness World Records guidelines – all being taken care of by the events team at AMLC.

You don’t have to be a member of any club to participate and you’re more than welcome to bring the kids and pets! If you want to be apart of this monumental world record, you can register now to secure your place and avoid disappointment, as campsites are limited.
